We are delighted to share the incredible news that Shridhar Nagappa Malagi, a highly acclaimed international para swimmer representing the esteemed Swimmers’ Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum, has been chosen as one of the distinguished members to participate in the City PARA Swimming World Series 2023. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place in Sheffield, United Kingdom, from March 16th to 19th, 2023.
Shridhar will be competing in the highly competitive S8 category, showcasing his exceptional skills in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle events, the 100-meter breaststroke, and the 200-meter individual medley. His relentless training is currently being conducted at the renowned Suvarna JNMC swimming pool in Belagavi, an Olympic-sized facility, as well as the esteemed ZEE Swimming Academy in Bangalore. Under the watchful guidance of esteemed coaches including Umesh Kalghatgi, Sharath Gaikwad (an Olympian and Arjuna Awardee), Akshay Sheregar, and Ajinkya Mendke, Shridhar is continuously pushing his limits to reach new heights in his swimming career.
Shridhar has proudly represented India on six different occasions, securing a remarkable tally of eight international medals and over 40 national medals. His exceptional achievements have garnered attention, and he was recently interviewed by Chandan TV, where he shared his inspirational story, motivating others with his unwavering determination and incredible journey in para swimming.
